We had a great week. Andrea is a great teacher and super patient with young people. We had two beginner teenagers who managed their waterstart on the second day. Very professional…

We were a group of 8 at Kite Me Up, including five kids, mostly complete beginners. The instructors were all super nice, highly motivated and very patient – they did a really great job, especially with the children.

Very nice spot with shallow water and good wind. We rented top quality equipment and our 12 years old kids progressed quickly thanks to Nico (friendly and patient teacher). Andrea was really nice and helpful!

I encourage everyone, especially beginners like my son (15) and me (49), to learn at Kite Me Up. Welcome, introduction, incredible patience, encouraging… By the third session (7th hour), we were kiting!

Why Choose Kite Me Up for Your Kids?

Certified instructors, trained to teach children

Certified instructors, trained to teach children

Your child learns with an IKO or VDWS certified instructor who has years of experience on the water and specific training in teaching kids.

We keep them focused and motivated by mixing up the exercises, turning drills into games and moving on to something new before attention drops. Every step is adapted to your child's age, size and confidence: no pressure, just steady progress and a lot of fun.

Kites designed for kids

We match every kite to your child's weight, and for young riders we use Flysurfer Hybrid kites. They have a softer, gentler pull, so they feel less scary and are safer, and they steer smoothly.

They are also easier to fly in light wind, so we can teach kids in a lighter breeze than adults need, often when the lagoon is quiet and almost empty.

Your child feels in full control from the very first session: confident, safe, and having fun while making fast progress.

Knee-deep water: Lo Stagnone is a shallow lagoon, so your child can stand up anytime, anywhere.

Flat water, no waves: Calm, smooth water lets your child put all their attention on the kite and find their balance quickly.

Mild winds, at the right time: The lagoon's breeze is mostly gentle and steady, which is ideal for learning. Because a child's weight matters, we also schedule kids' lessons for the softer-wind hours, so every session is comfortable, safe and fun.

Learn Together

Learn Together

On their own: our first choice. Your child has an instructor all to themselves, in good hands for the whole lesson, and taught in their own language: English, French, Italian or German.

With a parent: your child can share the lesson with you, a holiday memory you'll both keep. When the weight difference starts to slow down progress, we split you so everyone keeps improving.

With another kid: kids can also share the lesson with another child of a similar level. Learning with a friend is even more fun.

Questions From Parents

From what age can my child learn?

From 9 years old.

Is kitesurfing safe for kids?

Yes. Taught the right way, kitesurfing is a very safe sport. Modern kites have efficient safety systems that let your child cut the kite's power instantly, and the risk of injury is very low: in many ways it's safer than skiing or snowboarding.

Can we learn together?

Yes, and it's often the nicest way to start! Learning with a parent or with someone they already know helps your child feel relaxed and confident from the very first minute. We do our best to adapt every lesson to your situation, so everyone has fun and keeps progressing.

How long is a lesson?

We usually plan 2 hours, but we're happy to make it longer or shorter and keep it as flexible as possible. Kids can find it harder to stay focused for a long time, so we follow your child's energy and adapt without any problem.

What if there's only a little wind?

Good news: light wind is actually great for kids. Our Flysurfer Hybrid kites fly in very light wind, and for a lighter child these conditions feel safer and easier.

We also like to plan kids' lessons for the lighter-wind hours, when it's usually too light to teach adults. That means plenty of space on the lagoon just for them: a calm, very comfortable place to learn.

What safety equipment do kids use?

A helmet with a radio so the instructor can guide them at all times, a life vest, and kid-sized gear: kite, wetsuit and harness.
