FAQ about gear rental
Which level do I need to rent kite gear?
Independent kiters who are capable of riding in any direction, including upwind, can rent gear. This typically corresponds to IKO level 3k or VDWS level 5.
I feel like I am ready for my first rental but I am a bit insecure, what do you suggest?
In this case, we will recommend getting our supervised rental service.
You will have a two-way radio that will allow communicating with the station manager.

What happens if conditions change while I am out with rented gear?
You can come back on land to the station and we help you quickly changing your gear to best adapt to the new condition, for instance using a bigger kite if the wind has decreased.
Can I rent first for 1 hour and decide afterward if I want to extend?
Of course. We are pretty flexible, and you can decide without any pressure during or after a first session.
What if something happens and I can't come back by myself?
The lagoon is shallow everywhere in the learning area around Kite Me Up. If anything happens you can simply walk back to us.

I heard that kitesurfing is a dangerous sport, is it true?
Kitesurfing is a relatively safe sport if taught in the right way.
Our certified instructors teach you using IKO or VDWS safety standards, meaning that you receive full knowledge of the gear's security systems and total control of the kite at all time.
We use modern kites and bars, and the appropriate set-up responding to wind conditions.
Getting lifted out of the water into the air is almost impossible if you know what you do and this is what we teach you.
