Hi there, we are Svenja and Andrea. Before we met and created Kite Me Up, we both travelled solo, first to learn kitesurfing, then to explore new spots.
The beauty of our sport is that it brings like-minded people together: meeting others and sharing unique moments happens naturally. That's why we created an offer that gives you a comfortable, unique experience you will never forget.
A safe place to travel on your own

We put a lot of effort into choosing our team. Our instructors are not only excellent teachers: they are respectful, kind and well-mannered, on the water and off it.

Sicily is a safe place to travel, calmer than many big European cities, especially around Lo Stagnone. As anywhere, a little common sense helps at night or when you go out to party, but day to day you can simply relax and enjoy.

Is it safe to travel to Lo Stagnone on my own as a woman?
Yes. Sicily is a safe place to travel, calmer than many big European cities, especially around Lo Stagnone. As anywhere, a little common sense helps at night or when you go out to party. At the school, we choose instructors who are not only excellent teachers but also respectful, kind and well-mannered.
Where will I stay?
You choose what suits you best: a private room, your own apartment or a bed in a female-only dorm. Have a look at our accommodation or ask us and we will help you choose.
Will I meet other people?
Definitely. Kitesurfing brings like-minded people together, and we are a boutique school with a friendly atmosphere: there is always someone happy to share a tip, a session or a sunset drink.
Do I need any experience?
No. The shallow, flat water of the Lo Stagnone lagoon is one of the best places in the world to learn, and our beginner courses start from zero.
Is there a discount for solo travellers?
Yes: solo travellers get 10% off all courses.
