Learn Kitesurfing in Lo Stagnone

"We came here on short notice due to wind being forecasted. They had a private lesson for the two of us, for two hours each. You get a radio and get constant help either directly or over the radio. Both of us had had two courses prior but weren’t able to perform a water start. Within the two hours with Andrea and Svenja both of us were able to do a water start and ride some meters downwind and a bit of upwind. We really enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back for more."

She was highly motivating, extremely positive and always totally focussed on safety. I observed a few dicey situations in the lagoon involving surfers from other schools, but thanks to her I never felt unsafe at any time in the water. At such a perfect but therefore also popular spot, to me this is extremely important so that everyone can have fun and no accidents happen. L’emplacement de l’école au sud du lagon est idéal pour s’y rendre en 5 min à pieds depuis le logement hyper sympa où nous étions 👌 Localisation parfaite pour débuter en toute sécurité pour nous qui étions là pour notre toute première fois en kite surf ! Andréa s’est adapté aux conditions de vent en faisant preuve d’une disponibilité et d’une souplesse pour l’aménagement des cours que nous retrouverons difficilement ailleurs. La 3eme leçon de 2 h a été celle où nous avons réussi à sortir de l’eau sur le board 👍🏼😎😀 En dehors des cours, nous nous sommes régalés de la cuisine sicilienne incroyablement bonne. Nous avons visité à proximité le site archéologique de Segesta qui vaut vraiment le détour, la réserve de Zingaro avec rando de 4 h magnifique le long de la côte avec 5 criques superbes ! Lo Stagnone est situé à 30 min de Trapani et Marsala. Trapani que nous avons adoré pour son ambiance le soir. Marsala, très sympa aussi. En résumé, super semaine pour notre découverte du kite surf avec Andréa. Super pédago, hyper sympa et plein de bons plans restaus (dont Mamma Colette 😉😂👍🏼) et visites de la côte Ouest de la Sicile. "Great experience with KiteMeUp!. Andrea who owns the business is a very skilled and humble instructor. He has also been very helpful in finding accommodation as well as giving up-front information about the area which was great. Andrea is fluent in Italian, French and English which is making communication easy (will tackle German next, right ?😉) After some rather frustrating experiences in Fuerteventura and Egypt, Andrea helped me in just two days to complete my first long runs and even transitions within two days. The equipment he‘s using (e.g. O-Zone Kites) is in good condition and very applicable for beginners. During classes the communication is managed via headset which is a big plus as well. The spot itself is perfect for learning but also for advanced riders - shallow water, save as you are able to stand literally everywhere. Recommend to wear long sleeve though to avoid itchy marks caused by anemones in the water. "I don't normally write reviews but I think this merits one. I took a 2-hour session with Andrea yesterday and was very impressed. I had already taken a couple of lessons a few years ago so I wasn't a complete newby but Andreas simple and very clear instructions (he speaks v.good English) got me up and surfing in no time! He gave me the confidence and info necessary to both understand kite control/power management as well as board positioning. He has a helmet-mounted walkie-talkie system which I thought was really cool and found very useful for 'live' instruction and corrections. "I took the Zero to Hero Course and in 8 hours (instead of 9!) I managed riding upwind. Kite me up was real fair and only charged me the 8 hs. They teach really logically, and explain how things work. I like it, because I am the first to ask for the Why? At the end, we even did a little video analysis and I found it real useful, to see myself, my position on the board, etc. Really improved my skills by talking through the moves. Also, the school's spot is less crowded with other kitesurfers, it's not muddy, and I can easily walk in the Lagoon.
